Hi! My name is Mae and I am the owner and operator of Emmy Bee Creative. True to the picture of the 10 year old Autumn Fairy , I am at my core a lover of nature and whimsy. These passions have been, and continue to be, the foundation of who I am as an artist. Although I officially launched Emmy Bee back in 2013, I have been creating and crafting my entire life. Growing up in Maine, I enjoyed everything about the outdoors, from digging up blue clay in our backyard, making tree forts in the woods, to building fairy homes in the mountains. Creating art IN nature is where it all began.
In addition to my love for nature and animals, I'm also drawn to anything and everything shiny and sparkly. If it’s colorful, bright, and extra shimmery, I need it in my life. It's easy to find this glittery element of my personality sprinkled throughout many of my creations.
You may be wondering why my business is called Emmy Bee if that's not my name and I'm not a bee keeper? Don’t get me wrong... I do love bees, but Emmy Bee was coined as a tribute to my late grandmother whose initials are M.E.B. She was my number one supporter and always encouraged my creativity, pushing me to express myself through various art mediums.
If you’ve made it this far, I just want to say thank you for being here! Emmy Bee wouldn’t be what it is today without the love and support from an incredible community of followers. Thank you for allowing me to share my passion and creativity with you, and for bringing a part of Emmy Bee into your lives.
xoxo
This picture is such a great representation of my childhood, which has been the foundation for so much of who I am today
Just a quick shout out to my parents for all of their love and support throughout the years. They gifted me my first sewing machine in high school and upgraded me to a professional model when I moved to CT years later. They raised me in the beautiful state of Maine, providing me limitless access to the great outdoors and untold adventures. You might not know it, but my family is abundantly creative. My mother, although she will deny it, has a brilliantly creative mind and is an extraordinary knitter, often gifting hand knit goods to friends and family. As a master carpenter and timber framer, my Dad has designed and built everything from post and beam barns to the wooden centerpieces at my wedding. Growing up in a household so steeped in artistic ability, its clear where I inherited my creative spirit. I am forever grateful to them for instilling my love of the outdoors and sparking my creative pursuits.
Me today, in my colorful sequin era
